Try a couple grenades or some C4, if that don't work...rent a backhoe or a D8 with 8 foot ripper shanks and you can get em. If not, at least you wont have any gopher holes to look at anymore.

The gopher hawk works great when placed into the deeper, "main" runs. It is not effective on the shallow tunnels. I've never had much luck getting moles in shallow tunnels. I'll buy a couple of wire teks and see how they do

moles' fav food are earthworms (they settle for grubs if/when earthworm pop is down ). So, when worms are shallow, moles tunnel up near surface). Bait or snare/trap accordingly !! Try getting them ASAP after they "activate" with spring's warmth to reduce their damage and before they make mole babies that will magnify their damage and give soil and vegitation the most time to recover !

Gopher hawk has been the worst trap i have ever used. The spring traps work so much better.

I bought one of these and the moles will tunnel right around this Gopher hawk. Still trying to figure out how to make it work.

The trap I use is an antique plunger style, similar to the Yard Dog. It was my grandfather’s. He taught me as a kid, and I’ve always been able to clear those pesky moles with it. I enjoy seeing the different types you are using. Thanks for sharing.

I use my grandfather’s spike trap. Similar concept, except instead of grabbing, it spikes them.

Moles eat bugs. I usually only kill rats and gophers that eat my garden.

I just adopted a doberman/ rat terrier mix. She has caught 6 moles so far. Thats the easiest route ive found by far.

Leave the dead mole in the hole. Miles are territorial. If you leave it in that tunnel system it won’t be as likely for another mole to move in to that tunnel system.

My kid getting a 4 wheeler has kept the moles away. I had caught 8-9 moles for years with the foot push traps which I highly recommended. Him getting a 4 four wheeler to ride over our 2 acres has rid us of moles. I guess they hate being disturbed:)

I only have a regular residential lot and my cat did the mole killing, but the cat is no longer with us so I guess I’ll try a couple of these and cross my fingers.

I have three different types of mole traps, and only one actually caught a mole and that was the "Jaw" type. To date, I have not caught one single mole with the Gopher Hawk, regardless of how carefully I set them.

I try to get my big block ‘72 C10 to get traction, not spin out.... it won’t hook up at WOT until 70 mph, at WOT in first or second it is on the rev limiter. Sounds similar to your elco, my Straub spec’d Clay Smith HR cam is a torque beast!

I've been playing whack-a-mole in my yard for 30 years and only got 2. The first was decades ago with a scissors trap and the second was last year with a spike trap. I put traps all over and the damn things just avoid them. On both the times I got one the trap had been in place for months and all but forgotten, then one day I noticed it tripped. Never had a false trip either. I have 3 Gopher Hawk traps that never caught anything. I don't care for them because my tunnels are never deep enough to make them stand up.

Show us how to install them in the yard, please.

Peanut butter and mouse traps covered by a pail works wonders. Caught 20 last summer before running out of traps.

Usually If you have trees or bushes moles like to nest around the tree and bush roots and that is why you don't get mounds. My back yard has them and I have no tree or bush roots.

I have tried everything. Gopherhawk was only thing that worked. The gratification of eliminating the source of $$$ of damage was extreme.

As a fellow mole hunter with this trap, I totally get your excitement when you catch one.

Currently in the process of watching some of your videos… question, how much do you stomp the tunnel down before laying the trap down? And is the trap laid in the flattened part or are the scissors in the tunnel with the trigger plate over the flat part? Lately I’ve had lots of moles come to the trap but they don’t dig under. I’m not sure if I’m flattening it too much or if the traps not sensitive enough. I’d love to hear your take Edit: I’m in North Texas

👎 My back yard was riddled with moles this year. Had never seen them this bad. Totally destroying our property After reading reviews on this device I purchased and used it for approximately 6 weeks. I had 5 events where it triggered and released without snagging a mole. I watched a few PewTube videos people had posted of this device but I finally went back to sitting in a chair with a 22 single shot whenever I saw fresh mound of dirt, waited until I saw them digging and shot straight into the movement. In 5 days I've eliminated 4 moles. One morning I got two of them within 15 minutes. Yeah, it takes a little time from the chores but it's a lot more effective than this device for me.

Damn.... I came across this video doing a little research as im about to replace the rubber matt in my 2016 GMC Sierra 2500..... it was my work truck for a long while as an ironworker . The company I worked for basically bought it from me and i kept driving it so I could be under their insurance so I could drive into cement plants...paper mills....steel mills... and all sorts of other awful places...😅. Anyway, we beat the shit out of that truck over many nasty jobs, and now im trying to get it looking nice again. Hell....They gave you enough carpet for 2 trucks....😅l. Im probably going with the same company... you can't beat the price.... i just hope they don't give so much extra for my crew cab.... that thing will be Massive! Lol
